Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Chantel Rusz

With over a decade of clinical experience, Chantel Rusz is a board-certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for individuals across the lifespan.

Chantel earned both her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (with highest honors) from Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia). Throughout her career, she has served in diverse clinical and leadership roles, with a strong focus on integrated care and behavioral health access.

At Florida Community Health Centers, Chantel led the design, launch, and management of a full-scale behavioral health program, ensuring regulatory compliance while expanding mental health services within a community health setting. Her leadership reflected a deep commitment to health equity and innovation in care delivery.

Currently, she serves as a psychiatric provider at Helping People Succeed, where she also held the role of Interim Medical Director for four years. She offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy with a holistic, patient-centered approach tailored to each individual’s needs.

Chantel has specialized expertise in:

  • Treating complex and co-occurring psychiatric conditions

  • Substance use disorder treatment

  • Integrating behavioral health into primary care models

She is a Certified Master Psychopharmacologist and holds additional certifications in:

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

  • Certified Mental Health & Nutrition Clinical Specialist (CMNCS)

  • Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP)

  • Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP)

  • Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) assessment

As part of her commitment to whole-person care, Chantel completed advanced training in Integrative and Functional Psychiatry through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. This training emphasized identifying and resolving the root causes of mental health conditions—rather than simply managing symptoms—and equipped her to incorporate evidence-based supplement therapy into treatment plans. This allows her to support patients in achieving lasting mental wellness through a more personalized and integrative approach.

A dedicated mentor and advocate for clinical excellence, Chantel also supports provider education and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and strengthen mental health systems.
